- Approved special called meeting minutes 2/27/06
- Approved Resolution #2006-06 following a presentation by Ben Farmer, North
- Alabama Council of Local Governments. Resolution adds an additional zoning category to allow the construction of a planned housing development as proposed by Bob Masdon in a work session preceding the regular meeting.
- Approved increasing city’s annual contribution from $4,000 to $10,000 for Dixie Youth Baseball.
- Approved Winston County Mutual Aid agreement (RES #2006-07 allows use of city equipment and personnel to other cities if needed in a disaster or emergency).
- Approved an agreement allowing the Covenant Company to collect from insurance companies on behalf of the city for fire department service.
- Approved Good Friday as a paid holiday for city employees. (Makes a total of 14 paid holidays for city employees for this year).
- Discussed engineering service for the Cassady Company. (A bill for engineering services for the downtown renovation performed since the scheduled end of construction was discussed. A decision whether to pay the bill will be made in two weeks at the next regular city council meeting.
- Approved advertising for two street & sanitation employees.
- Approved a reappointment of Jimmy Elliott as the city’s representative member on the Upper Beard Creek Water Authority.
- Next scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, March 21.
